Our Values

Our Story

Our Beginnings

The idea for HAS was born out of the realization that short-term emergency responses often fall short in addressing the long-term needs of communities. In Uganda, where poverty, conflict, and displacement have created numerous challenges, we saw the need for a new approach—one that focuses on sustainable solutions and empowering communities long after the initial crisis subsides.

On December 31, 2021, HAS was put on paper, and by March 2022, it was officially registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau in Yumbe District. We have also signed an MOU with the Office of the Prime Minister’s Department of Refugees, ensuring that our programs align with national efforts to support refugee populations.

Since then, HAS has grown into a multi-faceted organization with a passionate team committed to long-term community development in Uganda. Our work impacts both refugees and host communities, ensuring no one is left behind.

With a national coordination office in Kampala and a regional presence in the Yumbe District’s Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, we provide holistic humanitarian aid, focusing on Child Protection, Education, Livelihoods, Health & Nutrition, and Environmental Conservation.
